TriSenx Inc. Develops Innovative Device to Disperse Scents Through the Internet
The Internet has proven to be an important resource for news, entertainment and business. Until recently, it has only been able to stimulate the senses of sight and hearing. Ellwood G. Ivey, Chairman and CEO of Savannah-based TriSenx Holdings Inc. envisioned an Internet experience that allows for smell and taste. TriSenx has developed a device that will enhance the human Internet experience by allowing the 'common layman' as well as the 'computer expert' to smell fragrances and aromas from the computer. They also have developed a system that will stimulate your taste buds as well.
Fragrances will include common perfumes and colognes to the high-end designer fragrances with exact renditions. Aromas include generic food aromas that can be used individually as well as in combinations to create new or additional more popular food applications. For example, your bread, cheese, pepperoni and salsa aromas combined, can smell like pizza.
The fragrances and aromas are stored in a cartridge within the SENX™ device. The cartridge has twenty specific chambers, which contain twenty assorted aromas and fragrances. Each chamber is totally independent of the other chambers. Within those chambers, the fragrances and aromas alike are stored in a small container, the proprietary dispersion mechanism, which holds a volume capacity of 7 cc. This allows hundreds of uses from a standard solution provided by fragrance houses. Each proprietary dispersion mechanism can provide dispersions up to fifty times. With a forty palette generic system consisting of two cartridges, the SENX™ can create thousands of new renditions. The cartridges are disposable and easily interchangeable. The SENX™ is shipped to customers with two generic cartridges, one with your food aromas and one with your fragrance aromas.
Users will also be able to taste their favorite flavors calorie-free. The SENX™ machine sprays a flavor solution on a potato-starch wafer that you can lick or eat entirely.
The capabilities of the SENX™ are numerous: email scent delivery, website scent delivery, aromatherapy scent delivery, and entertainment scent delivery are only of few of the possibilities offered by this new technology.
As e-commerce has quickly grown as a method of product distribution, multi-sensory experiences are becoming its lifeblood. As an enabler of e-commerce, any product that can be smelled or tasted can now be instantly sampled online.
Games, movies and music are other areas that can benefit from this technology.
The SENX™ receives commands from TriSenx's software solutions package and upon receipt of that command, the designated chamber housing that specific primary fragrance or aroma is activated. The 'fragrance onset' is activated immediately. The LED light illuminates around the cartridge system indicating the system is active. The proprietary dispersion mechanism is activated and runs the duration of the experience.
