Perfection is Achieved through Quality and State-of-the-Art
Technology
In our industry, the name Mane is synonymous with
fragrance and flavor formulations and raw
materials. The private, family-owned company traces its roots back
to 1871 when Victor Mane began producing fragrance materials from
flowers and plants in the region of Bar sur Loup, France. Victors
sons, Eugène and Gabriel eventually took the reins and from
1916 to 1958, they modernized and expanded the business to include
international markets. In 1959, Eugènes son Maurice
took over. He further increased the companys production abilities,
including entry into the flavor market for the food industry, the
creation of research laboratories, and the development of an international
network of subsidiaries and affiliates. Maurice retired in 1995
to become Chairman of the Monitoring Committee. Today, his eldest
son Jean is President of the Directorate, while his other son, Michel
is President of Mane Americas, which is headquartered in New York.

Highly skilled in the research and development
of raw materials from natural sources, Mane keeps up with new technology
(molecular distillation, CO2 extraction, biotechnologies, etc.).
Among the raw materials they produce are essential oils, concretes
and absolutes (France & Turkey), resinoids, natural specialties,
molecular distillation products, CO2 extracts (India), natural isolates,
biotechnology molecules, and chemical products from synthesis or
hemis synthesis, ensuring independence, diversity and quality unmatched
by their competition.

In an effort to mimic Nature, Mane developed their
own proprietary technology to capture the molecules emitted by parts
ofbotanical species while respecting their environment. This non-destructive
extraction technique coupled with modern analytical tools have lead
to the identification of high odor value molecules with low detection
threshold, thus enabling the design of breakthrough olfactive accords
such as the "marine accord" which paved the way to modern
perfumery in the late 1980's throughout the last decade of the 20th
century.
The increasing demand for natural fragrances from all sectors has
also encouraged Mane to develop natural molecules for use in perfumery.
Biochemistry has broadened the Perfumer's palette and thus its creativity
in providing them economical natural ingredients other than essential
oil isolates.

One additional example of vertical integration is Mane's Microcaps®
encapsulation technology which provides additional sensorial advantage
and functionality to consumer products. This entirely new delivery
system opens new fields in product development using fragrances
of increased stability and complexity to be released where and when
needed.
The horizontal integration approach has allowed Mane to create a
network of competence to bring marketers and retailers ready-to-market
innovations. Cosmeting® is the first customized interface for
the development of beauty products and combines the creative and
technical know-how of companies operating in different sectors of
the more global "beauty and cosmetics' industry. Cosmeting®
is an ever-changing tool, which combines the right mix of companies
expert in their field to translate futuristic trends into new textures
and gestures. Mane will unveil the third edition of Cosmeting®
at the LuxPack Ingredients show in Monaco.
